CHAPEL HILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

What to Expect
We know that visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating, especially if you don’t know what to expect. At Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, we want to make sure you feel completely welcome and pray you will experience the joy that comes from being part of a true community.
Come as you are.
Our Sunday worship begins at 10:30am at 4071 Naomi Road in Sodus, Michigan. We also invite you to join us for coffee and fellowship immediately following worship.
We also have Sunday school for adults beginning at 9:30am and open AA meetings at 9am in the lower level of the education building on Sunday mornings.
What will my experience be like?
When you visit Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, you will receive a handout outlining the service. A typical worship service usually includes a greeting and opening prayer, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord’s Prayer, a children’s time, a sermon given by Pastor Brenda Gordon, and music and hymns. Communion may also be served. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate.
What should I wear?
Chapel Hill United Methodist is a “come as you are” church. Our worship gatherings are important to us. Some people dress up, but we encourage you to be yourself! You’ll probably see shorts and t-shirts, suits and ties, and everything in between.
What’s the music like?
Our form of worship has its roots in the earliest days of the church with music composed of hymns.
Do you have a nursery for children?
We have a nursery for preschool aged children during worship. During the school year we have Sunday school for children, which begins after the children’s time part of worship.
